She writes where real childhood lives: in the moments after something breaks, when a question won’t stop swirling, or when a child is trying to make sense of what just happened. Her books are shaped by years in the classroom and by listening carefully to children when they speak — and when they don’t. Sometimes that silence is the whole story.

Inbal’s writing is shaped by years spent in and around schools — first around the world, and then for more than a decade as an elementary school teacher in Massachusetts. Those years show up in every story she writes.
